New York is married into Limbo Starr; let's explain this. Clovis is the name of a bookshop in Brooklyn -as well as the name of the owner's dog-, and of the last incorporation to the record label, which is something that fills us with happiness, of course! But in order to "introduce" them, it is necessary to fill in on.

Fino Oyonarte and Cristina Plaza -a couple, in fact- traveled to the city to rest and live a new experience, at first for just a week, and they stayed there -enchanted- from December 1999 until April of the New Year. With their objective fulfilled more than enough, after taking photographs of the snowy city, improving their English, going to the first concert of Le Tigre and leaving their mark as masters in the preparation of one of our delicatessen, the Spanish omelet, they came back with a few more things in their suitcase: lots of friends, a musical-vital project and a recording which would become their first -and auto-released- single. Gestating the idea as going along and bending their ideas in the analogyc eight track of Matthew Caws (Nada Surf), they shaped "Deep as the ocean" and "I don't feel so strong"; which today are almost outlines of their live cover versions.

When they came back, the duet -today quintet, with Juan Ferrari on guitar, Jesœs Vassallo on base guitar and Sergio Tejada on drums- kept on developing their project from the background. They traveled to Granada and in the Refugio Antiaéreo of Los Planetas- they showed they learned the maxim of the famous spanish TV program for children Bola de Cristal: "Alone you can't, with friends you can"- they registered Time we spent together, the Ep that means the first edition at Limbo Starr and that we hope it becomes a long and fruitful career.

Time we spent together gathers a moment in time, the encounter between Clovis (and their songs) with their friends and musicians Erik and Banin (Los Planetas) and Matthew Caws, together with the experience at controls of Carlos Hern‡ndez. "Leaving you (again)" leads the record, and flows like the example of the own recording process, from the lounge to the studio. Sang together (duet), its dynamic crescendo makes evident the bridge from their previous recording up to this one, showing Clovis as what they are, a being in constant development. Outbursts and waves of guitars, rhythmic beatings and crystalline melodies to the service of "Self-defense" and "1975" to lead us to "Guardian angel" (last track of the EP); which we understand as a beautiful pop song.

The lyrics, in english or spanish, are clear and universal, like real life, performed by the voice of Cristina, full of registers and plenty of personality. Nacho Vegas, Maga, now Clovis; soon more inhabitants from Limbo.

Brief biographies of Cris and Fino

Cristina Plaza reconciles with her actress facet (trilogy of bakala shorts of Diego Abad) as well as making fanzines (magazines), as the responsible of Cat—dicos Protestantes.
